Alabama LEGAL was formed in January of 2006 by a small group of gay law enforcement officers. These officers had attended a conference in Atlanta, Georgia and met members of Georgia LEGAL as well as Florida LEGAL. They enjoyed the fellowship so much that they decided that Alabama should have a LEGAL organization of its' own. So, they agreed to work together to form Alabama LEGAL.

Alabama LEGAL was formed as a social orgainization as well as a support group for GLBT Criminal Justice Professionals throughout the state. Alabama LEGAL welcomes members from the mountains of North Alabama to the beaches of the gulf coast.
